What Is a GroupID and How Can I Enter It?

A GroupID is a code that is generated on the LuvLink App when you first set up your Friendship Lamp and start a new group. 


It's important to note that the same GroupID must be entered on each lamp during setup to link them all together.

The GroupID should be in all lowercase, without spaces, and the only allowed special character is an underscore (_). Please ensure that you enter exactly the same GroupID that was generated in the LuvLink App.


How to Create a New GroupID?


To connect your LuvLink Friendship Lamp to others in your group, you will need a GroupID.


To begin, download the LuvLink™ App on you iOS or Android phone, then follow the App Setup Guide found here: Friendship Lamps Setup Guide – LuvLink


To create a GroupID, simply choose 'Create a new group' on the LuvLink App. This will automatically generate a GroupID for you and others who will join your group.





If you created the GroupID, you will be the admin and will need to approve those who wish to join your group.


You will receive a notification in your email and on the app that a new member is waiting for approval to join your group.


How to Connect to an Existing Group?





If you already have an existing group, there is no need to create a new GroupID.


To start the setup process, you need to download the LuvLink™ App on your iOS or Android phone.


Tap on '+ Add Device' on the LuvLink App dashboard, then choose 'Connect to an existing group' and carefully enter the correct GroupID.


Continue following the prompts to connect until you get to the screen where you can add in your WiFi network and password. Please make sure you press to select the WiFi, enter the password correctly and press SAVE.


The lamp will be yellow, which means it is awaiting approval from the admin (the person who setup the GroupID) to allow the device to connect to the group.


How to Connect to a Second Group?


Once the LuvLink Friendship Lamp is setup and connected, it will go to swirling green indicating that it is ready to go and communicate with other lamps in your group.


Follow these easy steps to add or connect to a second group.

1. Go into your lamp's settings (cog wheel) on the app.




2. Open up the GroupID section under the Device Information.




3. Under the Second GroupID section, choose to either 'Create a new group' or 'Connect to an existing group'.
