Setting up your LuvLink Friendship Lamp is super easy and straightforward, and we’re here to walk you through every step of the way! Whether you're connecting with family, friends, or loved ones, these Friendship Lamps are all about bringing people together in a fun, meaningful way.
In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to get your lamp hooked up—from powering up your lamp to connecting it to WiFi and using the LuvLink App. Should you hit any bumps along the way, don’t worry—we’ve got some helpful tips to get things back on track.
In just a few minutes, you’ll be ready to share little moments of connection, one light at a time!
Here's a list of what you need to get started!
1. Power Connection
Your LuvLink Friendship Lamp needs to stay plugged into a power source at all times in order to work properly. Each lamp comes with a standard USB Type-C cable in the box, but you’ll need to supply your own wall adapter or charger brick—something similar to what you use to charge your mobile phone works perfectly.
Since power outlets and adapters vary by country, just make sure your adapter is compatible with both the USB Type-C cable and your local power supply.
You can also plug the lamp directly into a USB port on your computer or laptop, making it a perfect addition to your desk or office setup.
2. Installing the LuvLink App
The LuvLink Friendship Lamps require a one-time setup, and you’ll need to install the LuvLink App on your iOS or Android phone and use this to connect the lamp to your WiFi.
Here are the App download links for LuvLink™ App for iOS and Android.

Once the Friendship Lamp is set up the app, you can easily manage your lamp’s settings such as changing the lamp's color, sending secret color codes to a group, adjusting the brightness/ dimness, extending the dimming time, and setting a sleep timer among others.

3. WiFi Connection
To get your LuvLink Friendship Lamp working, it needs to be connected to WiFi. Keep in mind that the lamps need to be connected to WiFi for them to work— they won't do anything until they are successfully connected to the WiFi.
Here are the basic WiFi requirements
- Your WiFi should be on 2.4Ghz band. The lamp works best with 2.4GHz WiFi networks (this is the most common type), so make sure you’re connecting to that network, or ensure that this enabled if you have a dual-band router that supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
- Your WiFi should have WPA security. The lamp is designed to work with WPA-secured networks, which is the standard and most common type of WiFi security.
- Check for extra security settings. Some routers have added security features that block new devices from connecting automatically. If that's the case, you may need to add your lamp’s MAC ID (found on the sticker underneath the lamp) to the ‘allowed’ list or device whitelist in your router settings. You can usually find your router’s login details and settings info on a sticker attached to the router, in your phone’s WiFi settings, or by reaching out to your internet service provider for help.
4. Alternative WiFi Setup
If you don’t have access to a regular home WiFi, no problem! You can still connect your LuvLink Friendship Lamp using a mobile hotspot or a public WiFi network—like the ones you might find in a college dorm, apartment complex, or shared community spaces.
Just a quick heads-up: public or shared networks sometimes come with extra security steps. For example, you may need to register your lamp’s MAC ID (found on the sticker underneath the lamp) with the WiFi administrator or IT department, depending on how the network is set up.
