When a LuvLink Friendship Lamp turns to purple, it means it is installing an update. This happens when you update the Firmware uner your lamp's settings on the LuvLink App.
However, if you find that your LuvLink Friendship Lamp has been stuck on purple for awful long time, you can try a few, easy troubleshooting steps to help it move forward.
First, we recommend that you follow the setup instructions linked in the LuvLink App Setup Guide to reset and reconnect your lamp. To begin the process, the lamp will need to be in the dim red setup mode and to further troubleshoot the issue, we are going to test the lamp on a mobile hotspot and then revert back to your home WiFi.
Please Follow These Steps:
- Turn off your WiFi at the router, then unplug you LuvLink Friendship Lamp and plug it back in. At this stage, the lamp should turn blue and then dim red.
- When the lamp goes to dim red, please refer to the LuvLink App Setup Guide — connect the lamp to a mobile hotspot rather than your normal home WiFi.
- If the lamp successfully connects to the mobile hotspot, turn your home WiFi on again (turn your hotspot off) and try to connect the lamp to your home WiFi.
If you are at college or using a public/ shared WiFi, and you find your lamp being stuck on purple and unable to connect successfully, you will need to visit the following article for helpful troubleshooting information to resolve this: Connecting Your LuvLink Friendship Lamp at College.
