My Lamp Is Not Sending/Receiving Colors

The heart of our LuvLink Friendship Lamps is the ability to send and receive colors, and if you're having trouble with this, it's usually something simple to fix!


Each lamp connects using a unique GroupID, which is generated during the initial setup.


If your Friendship Lamp isn't sending or receiving colors, the most likely culprit is an issue with the GroupID. Sometimes, a lamp might even turn on by itself — this usually means the GroupID was added incorrectly.

The LuvLink Friendship Lamp Is Not Receiving Colors


The first thing to check is whether the lamp is properly connected to your WiFi. When you plug it in, the LuvLink Friendship Lamp should display a swirling green light as it connects to your WiFi network.

If your lamp is connected to the WiFi but still isn’t receiving colors or greetings from your group, it might be a GroupID issue.


To resolve this, open the LuvLink App, check your GroupID, and make sure it matches the correct group.

The LuvLink Friendship Lamp Is Not Sending Colors


If the LuvLink Friendship Lamp is connected and receives colors from others in the group but is unable to send colors back when touching the top, this may be due to a touchpad issue. If the top sensor plate (also referred to as the touchpad) is unresponsive, please try the following troubleshooting steps as we work to rule out any potential power supply issues:


  1.  Test the LuvLink Friendship Lamp by plugging it into the USB port of a PC or Mac.
  2. Try using a different USB cable (other than the one provided with the lamp).
  3. Use a high-quality adapter/charger brick to plug the lamp into the wall, and try a different outlet in a different location.
