The LuvLink App setup process is designed to be super simple and straight-forward, so you can quickly connect your LuvLink Friendship Lamp to your Wi-Fi and start sharing those lovely colors with your loved ones!
Here’s what you’ll see on the app when everything is set up perfectly and your lamp is connected to Wi-Fi — smooth sailing all the way!
However, we all know that even with the best setups, technology can sometimes throw a curveball. If you see an error message while setting up or using your LuvLink Friendship Lamp, don’t worry — it happens to everyone! The good news is that most issues are easy to fix, and we’re here to help.
Below, we’ve listed some common error messages that you might encounter on the LuvLink App, along with simple, step-by-step troubleshooting tips to get your lamp glowing again in no time. Whether you're a pro or just starting out, we’ve got you covered!
1. Unable to Join the Friendlamps Network
Troubleshooting Tips:
- First thing to keep in mind when setting up your LuvLink Friendship Lamp is that it should be on dim red —simply hold down on the touchpad for 3-5 minutes (for the Modern and Classic Friendship Lamps) or insert a pin into the 'reset' pinhole underneath the lamp (for the Infinity Range).
- Double check your MAC ID (found on the sticker on the bottom of the lamp) and enter this correctly.
2. Failed to Connect to WiFi Error
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Confirm that the 2.4ghz WiFi bandwidth is enabled on your router, and that you select this during the setup process on the LuvLink App.
- Confirm that your WiFi security is WPA.
- Ensure that you enter the correct WiFi password. Remember that password is case sensitive, so please check if you have the auto-capitalization on for your device).

3. Connect to Device Failed
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Unplug and plug your LuvLink Friendship Lamp back in and ensure that it is dim red. This can be achieved by holding down on the touchpad for 3-5 minutes.
- Close the LuvLink App, go to your phone's WiFi settings and see if the Friendlamps_XXXX WiFi will appear on the list of available networks nearby. If it does appear, please try to 'Forget' the Friendlamps WiFi network.
- If you have previously setup your LuvLink Friendship Lamp via Bluetooth, please check your phone's Bluetooth settings and also 'Forget' or 'Remove' this device.
- Go back to the LuvLink App and try again with the setup.
- Ensure that you allow or accept 'Bluetooth Pairing Request' when prompted.
